We dance on the first Saturday of every month except July and August. Our monthly dances are mostly contras, with some square or round
dances for variety.
Partners are not required (singles are welcome) and newcomers are encouraged to join us.
We recommend that first-timers
of any age attend an informal half-hour session before the dance to learn the basics.
(It's fun, and you'll do fine. We
promise! )
Most dances are held at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 61 Morningside Drive, just east of 'downtown' Elverson, Pa. The
teaching session for newcomers usually begins at 7 p.m.
Dances in June and October are held at 7:30 p.m. at the Crow's Nest Preserve,
about 3 miles away.
Some special event dances may be held at other locations.
The Elverson Contra Dance is sponsored by the Conestoga Dance Association, an all-volunteer not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization affiliated with CDSS, the Country Dance and Song Society.
