We dance on the first Saturday of every month except July and August.
Our monthly dances are mostly contras, with some square or round dances
for variety.
Partners are not required (singles are welcome) and newcomers are
encouraged to join us. We recommend that first-timers of any age attend
an informal half-hour session at 7 p.m. before the dance to learn the
basics. (It's
fun, and you'll do fine. We promise! ) Regular dancing begins at 7:30
p.m.
Our June dance will be at the
Crow's Nest Preserve.
Special note:
In September, we move to a new location at the
Birdsboro Community Memorial Center.
It's about 2.5 miles east of our present location, and right in the
center of Birdsboro. Park in the lot across the street from the
Center.
The October '12 dance will be held in Birdsboro.
The Elverson Contra Dance is sponsored by the Conestoga Dance
Association, an all-volunteer not-for-profit 501 (c) 3 organization
affiliated with CDSS, the Country Dance and Song Society.
